Same dose, but new side effects
Post Content
Just prefacing this with the fact that I do have an appointment with my doctor on Friday. I started Zep in October 2024, moved to 5 mg in May 2025. Took a month off for surgery in July, did a month at 2.5 in August and then back on 5 in September. Until recently, my only side effect was constipation, which I figured out how to manage with fiber, water, and mag 7 when needed. One of my problems pre-Zep was eating large quantities of food, way over and above once my hunger had been satiated. As you all know, Zep really curbed that. Until just recently. I was on vacation over the holidays and we were on a cruise, so there was lots of good food and drink everywhere. I overindulged, and paid the price with bad diarrhea and nausea for a couple of days. Last week (it was even shot day!) any inhibition I had about eating too much just disappeared, and that night I ate essentially two big dinners. I paid the price again, with (sorry for TMI, but watery, explosive) diarrhea, and nausea, gas and bloating. And since then, I can’t get the diarrhea to stop. The thought of eating protein makes me nauseous, but I know that I have to eat. I have tried everything I can think of that would be gentle on the stomach but still at least give me some protein, but to no avail. I know GLP1s are supposed to slow gastric emptying, but I feel like my G.I. system is working overtime! On the one hand, I was going to ask my doctor about moving up to 7.5 since my tendency to overheat seems to be coming back, but on the other hand, I can’t imagine going up in dosage feeling the way I do. Any suggestions for some relief before I see my doc on Friday?
