Adderall has made me less creative

Post Content

This is something I’ve noticed after a while. I’m an artist and writer, and lately I haven’t been able to pursue creative endeavors as much. I’m also on Adderall XR 20mg usually, though today I’ve been on 10mg IR due to running out of my XR prescription. Today I noticed I’ve been much more artistically motivated than before, whipping up concept sketches like it’s nothing when I struggled to do that literally the day before yesterday. I feel that my medication helps me stay focused at work and it really helps me to not feel like my head is buzzing, but also I feel like it’s robbed me of my creativity, or made it harder to be creative. I don’t know if this is a sign I need to lower my dose, stick with IR, or seek out a different medication, but in general I wanted to see if this was a common experience amongst y’all.
