Dealing with greasy hair after treatment

Post Content

My scalp psoriasis has become worse and more frequent in the past year. I use calcipotriol, it's the only thing that's worked for me, but while applied it leaves my hair extremely greasy and it's not a good look. Often I have to leave it on for 48 hours for it to work - I've tried using it overnight and washing in the morning, but it's not enough time to work. Once it does work, I'm flake free anywhere from 2-7 days. But then it's time for treatment again. I'm so discouraged because I still have to live my life, work and meetings, going out in public, and the whole greasy look makes me look and feel dirty. I'm stuck choosing if I want to be flaky or greasy. I'll wear a hat when I can, but that isn't an option in the office, and it's especially distressing when I have to meet with a client. So, I'm wondering if anyone has any hairstyle or hair management hacks for the greasy days. The slicked back bun style doesn't really work for me because my hair gets frizzy and it looks a mess. Dry shampoo doesn't seem to have an effect. I feel like there must be other ideas out there...please help. For reference, I have long, dense hair. I've tried applying less gel but even the smallest amount spreads down the length, and applying too little doesn't impact the psoriasis. Am I screwed? Is the best move to just accept this? Thanks so much for reading.
