Doctor charging for full visit after 30 second conversation

Went in for my annual exam, which is covered as preventative care for only $25 in my insurance plan. I asked my doctor a simple question, she answered, the whole exchange was \*maybe\* 30 seconds. I got a bill for hundreds of dollars. I called, and they explained that because we had this “conversation” (if you can even call it that!), the visit went beyond the parameters of preventative care and I’m being billed for a full visit. I’m so angry and feel scammed. To make it worse, this appointment was rescheduled \*4 times\* by the doctor’s office. Clearly her 30 seconds are very valuable to her - my time is valuable too!
