Period on progesterone?!

Some history - been on estrogel 3 months nonstop - supposed to be cyclical progesterone - had 14 days of 100mg progesterone last month due to misunderstanding the dosage. All fine. - now onto 10th day of 200mg progesterone this month. Sleepy, painful boobs, diarrhoea. GP wants me to continue this way for another cycle to see if I adjust. I’ve started showing staining like my period is going to come shortly. This seems odd while I’m full of progesterone? If my period comes properly - do I stop the progesterone even if it’s before the 14 days?
