Any ideas on how I hurt myself in the gym?

Post Content

Hello Im a 28 year old male. One week ago I was leg pressing in the gym and was hitting a new PR for myself. On my final set as I was putting my legs towards my chest I felt a popping feeling in theleft side of my my ribs. There was no noise made that I was aware of but it almost felt like a balloon had popped inside of me. Was mildy painful but just shrugged it off. 7 days later I am still in pain probably slightly worse than how I felt when it happened it is not an unbearable pain more of a discomforting pain. I feel the pain when i touch that area, breathe deeply, sneezing, bend over, lay on that side. I was reading common injuries it could be such as an intercostal muscle strain or costochondritis. I wanted advice if this sounds like this could be one of these or something worse such as a rib fracture? If I genuinely should go to a Dr to get an xray done or if i should wait it out a few more days to see if the pain starts to subside. Any advice appreciated in advance!
