Doctor won't treat my thyroid because I'm "in range" - been suffering 4+ years, what are my options?

Post Content

Hey everyone, to give context, I'm a 21yr old Male with hypothyroid symptoms for over 4 years now, my endo basically told me to screw off because my TSH is "technically in range." So, currently, I'm losing my mind here. **Symptoms:** * Constant brain fog * Cold hands and feet 24/7 * constantly fatigued **My numbers over time:** August 2023: TSH 5.02, Free T4 1.05 September 2023: TSH 5.74, Free T4 0.92, also got an ultrasound showing borderline enlarged thyroid with colloid cysts on both sides September 2024: TSH 5.13, Free T4 0.91 Recent: TSH 3.497, Free T3 3.19 Good news: TPO antibodies 12 (negative), TSI <0.10 (negative) - so not Hashimoto's or Graves **What I've been doing:** Taking NOW Thyroid Energy for 6+ months (225mcg iodine, 1000mg tyrosine, 25mg zinc, 50mg selenium, 125mg ashwagandha, 60mcg B12). It dropped my TSH from 5.1 to 3.5 but I've plateaued and still feel like garbage. **The issue:** My endo says because I'm "in range" they can't do anything until it gets worse. Like... do I really have to wait until my thyroid completely fails before I can get help? I've already been suffering for YEARS. It took 2 years just to get appointments and testing, and now I'm told to just deal with it. Really not sure what to do here anymore. I appreciate any thoughts and opinions.
