Ganglion Cyst on Foot?

So basically, I 23F have what I assume is a ganglion cyst (going to see Dr soon) in my foot for a month now. I twisted my ankle really bad on an outdoor run, but I was stupid and kept running afterwards, 5 miles to be exact (yes ik that was a horrible idea). When I got home I noticed a visible lump on my foot, and chalked it up to ankle swelling for my injury. I brushed it off thinking it’ll go away. I walk and run every week so i honestly gave it no time to heal… and now the lump remains in place. It doesn’t hurt to touch or move, but it enlarges a bit ever time I run/walk. I’m assuming it’s benign now, but I am a little anxious that it won’t go away, it’s not causing me any harm but it just bothers me knowing it might not go away.
