T2D restart Ozempic postpartum
Post Content
I was diagnosed with T2D in 2024 and started metformin 1000mg twice a day and Ozempic 1mg once a week since then. Glucose had been well controlled since then. Last A1C before pregnancy was 5.6. During pregnancy, I went on insulin and stopped Ozempic, A1C was around 5.9. Now I’m 6 weeks postpartum, and only on metformin, my Dexcom readings are so elevated. Fasting is between 7-9.3. Post meal readings are high too because the baseline is so high now. I think I should get back on Ozempic. The pregnancy endocrinologist didn’t give me the prescription for the last phone appointment. When I was first diagnosed with diabetes, I had a stroke and went to the urgent care. I’m so terrified because of this experience. That’s why I like to keep my glucose in tighter control. Since the endocrinologist discharged me, I guess the only option is to go to my family doc? I’m so scared that the family doctor will deny me too.
