Week Two of TRT (this is for people just starting)

Post Content

I started TRT two weeks ago. This post is for people who are just starting and wanting to know what to expect. I searched for weeks before starting for posts exactly like this and had a hard time finding real, detailed timelines. So this is for you if you’re in that same spot. I’m 45 years old, 5’6, 145 pounds. My baseline total testosterone came back at 375. I’m currently on 200mg per week, split into two 100mg doses. **Week 1** First dose — I didn’t “feel anything.” No rush. No lightning bolt. Nothing dramatic. But around day 2–3, I noticed I felt slightly calmer. Subtle, but real. I’m very attuned to my body, and this wasn’t placebo. It felt like my nervous system was just… smoother. By days 3–4, I started waking up more alert. Not wired. Just clear. The morning sluggishness that I had gotten used to wasn’t as heavy. Each day after that, it became more noticeable. I wasn’t dragging in the mornings anymore. At this point, libido hadn’t changed at all. Completely the same. **The moment I knew something was happening** Last weekend I was at one of my son’s sports events. Anyone with kids knows how these go — passionate kids, passionate parents, refs making questionable calls, emotions running high. A parent from the other team started yelling at a group of dads from our side (I was one of them). Normally, that kind of stuff flips a switch in me. I get irritated fast. But this time? I was calm. Completely unbothered. I just kept watching the game. It wasn’t suppression. It wasn’t me trying to “be mature.” It genuinely didn’t bother me. That was the first moment where I thought, “Okay. This is doing something.” **Day 12** Day 12 I woke up with a rock-hard erection for the first time in recent memory. I’m talking full morning wood. I haven’t experienced that consistently in over a year. It has happened every day since. My libido isn’t fully back yet. I’m not walking around like a teenager. But the physiological response is clearly waking up again — and for me, that feels like a very good sign. That’s where I’m at two weeks in. No insane muscle gains yet. No superhero energy. Just: • Calmer baseline mood • Clearer mornings • Better stress response • Morning erections returning If you’re just starting, don’t expect fireworks on day one. For me, it was subtle at first — then gradually noticeable. I’ll update again at week 4 if people are interested.
