hormone imbalance?
Post Content
tl;dr: nausea, vomiting only during luteal phase right after ovulation. gi cleared. no doctor will help. ideas? hello! i'm 22 and have been dealing with hormonal crap for a long time now. i got on the progesterone only pill birth control at 16 for menstrual cramps, continued until i was 18. i stopped the pill because i was having mood swings, depression, anxiety, nausea/vomiting, horrible headaches.. mostly due to the sudden onset of nausea and vomiting. didn't think it had anything to do with hormones, just thought my stomach was sensitive. after the pill, i got on kyleena iud at 18. stopped having periods after a month or two of straight bleeding, roughly a year and a half after getting the iud in. continued to have issues and i went to several gi doctors, had 2 upper egds done, and ultrasounds. nobody could figure out why i was vomiting. i was also put on abilify maintena to "help" with the depression, mood swings, and anxiety. at 21, in may of 2025, i finally fought tooth and nail just to have my iud removed. it took multiple complaints to my obgyn office to finally get it removed, with them saying "none of this could ever be caused by birth control, it's local not systemic". now that it's been almost a year being off, it's been better? ups and downs. still mildly nauseous during luteal, having horrible symptoms some cycles but it's still better than it was. i'm no longer on abilify, my mental health has dramatically improved since getting off birth control. but i'm left wondering what type of imbalance it could even be and what i can do for the physical symptoms. no doctor i've come across will help me and i'm at a loss.
