PioneerRX compounding lot and expiration
Post Content
Hey all, so I work at a pharmacy that primarily bills scripts for high risk babies and a lot of what we dispense is compounds. On Pioneer, we are able to add compound formulations (clopidogrel, lansoprazole, entresto, etc) however we have to write by hand the lot and expiration for each ingredient in the compound. So for instance, a compound for magic mouth wash would be \-Lidocaine Lot # ABC123 Exp 12/2026 \-Mylanta Lot # ABC123 Exp 12/2026 \- Diphenhydramine Lot# ABC123 12/2026 Is there any way to have the lot and expiration be set in Pioneer where once we receive the med we can put in the Lot and Exp into the inventory to automatically show on the compound worksheet vs having the write it out by hand? Not sure if this makes sense... I feel as if this would save a lot of time. Will put in a call to Pioneer tomorrow to get a straight forward answer but not sure if anyone has a solution to the problem before doing so. We do maybe 20% compounds at my pharmacy and it slows down our fill station when 40 of 200 scripts per day need to be handwritten before sending them to be verified by a pharmacist.
