Hi my friends, how is everyone doing today? pain levels from a 4 -9 roughly? ??? sweet .... me too ;) This will be a long post so i do apologize in advance TLDR::: Sinking feeling in to ground and seats Vision, seeing letters and numbers messed up Seeing phone in dark mode as a hole to fall in to, painted black things on walls and ground look like holes to fall in to Whole body getting pins and needles /tingling while becoming incredibly hot Not being able to comprehend people speaking to you, people sound like the parents in snoopy/charlie brown/peaunts..... wom wom wom Sometimes just collapsing out of nowhere \------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have endured migraines since i was in my late teens, ( now im 43 years young) , i would usually get 1 to 2 a year. CRIPPLING as we all know , but i always knew it would be over in a few hours so i was accepting of them Ten years ago, i was in a bad industrial accident, i was caught in an ammonia +carbon dioxide + carbon monoxide + diesel fumes + some other chemicals cloud in a tunnel system that had turned off the extractor fans for maintenance. There was a whole bunch of communication and safety failures that caused this incident and i was in the RIGHT place ( my place of work) at the wrong time. I was heroically saved by my work colleague who turned up at the right time in a truck and dragged me out of there. I was incredibly lucky and I'm grateful for every moment after this incident. Initially after my hospital visit the Doctors focused on my respiratory system as that was the obvious thing that was affected . I still have issues with my respiratory system. After the incident, i was constantly exhausted and in pain, joints and headaches, i started to get migraines every 3rd day or so. Before this incident I had been a very strong, fit , able bodied man of 33 who would do 100 push ups when he woke up in the morning and run 5k before work. Who's hobbies included rock climbing , team sports like rugby, soccer ,had been a semi pro paintballer and combat sports. Over the coming months life became exceedingly difficult and the main focus of the doctors was the respiratory system. While i struggled to breath normally and walk a kilometer without being out of breath , i kept having severe headaches , which would then turn in to migraines every couple of days . My vision would worsen, my body would recoil in pain and i would see (Auras) the sparkles around everything. As months went by the pain got worse and i would start to randomly collapse i would feel extremely dizzy , the ground looked as if it was moving. When i sat in a chair, sofa or lay down in my bed i felt i was sinking through them, falling into nothingness while sitting perfectly still. this continued for months, while i had extremely painful migraines every 2nd day that would last for 3 days solid. I spent months in bed, i started to get muscle spasms everywhere, i would randomly collapse while standing or even sitting down, the sinking feeling continued, i lost control of my bowels many times. My memory started to become odd, i started to struggle to understand people, understand words written on a page. I had been an Electrician, i understood maths very well, physics was my job. Now concepts became alien to me i struggled to keep up with ideas , the flow of a conversation. I was no Einstein before but i was certainly not below average . My memory was becoming more and more terrible. i would find myself holding a bag wondering why i had it and where i was going. id forget my close friends names , i would get lost in the middle of the most basic of conversations Eventually.... after 3and half years i got an appointment with a neurologist, we did some tests, we talked , she said to me that she believes that i have been suffering from a constant migraine this entire time. She said that she still couldn't be 100% that all my other symptoms were not related. She told me that we had to go through a program of medication to see if they worked. We went through 4 different medications over the course of the year, none worked. during this time i could barely leave my home, the constant pain was excruciating. Until she was allowed to prescribe Emgality. I have now been on Emgality for 3 years. i still live in constant pain, but it is less, the extreme migraines are only 3-4 days a month instead on all the time. i collapse and fall over less, my weird vision , everything looking wavey is less, Again, everything is less, it has not cured me, it is still an enormous effort to function each day. Although i happily praise Emgality , many issues still persist, my memory is terrible, i have moments of my vision and hearing not working correctly. I want to know is this as good as it gets? Do all my other symptoms link up to some other issue?? i just want to know if there are more ways to help myself here And to know if anyone else is suffering similar symptoms Thanks for reading and sorry for the essay
