Weird pain in my calf?

Post Content

Background info abt me that I think will be relevant: Age: 18 Sex: female Height: 5’3 Weight: \~128 lbs Okay, I’m a little freaked out by this cuz I’ve never had anything like this happen to me in my life. I was in theatre class today (my 6th period, around 1 pm) and was kneeling (both knees on the ground, toes flexed against the ground, my butt on my heels) on the ground. I went to readjust to put my butt on the floor and this is the sequence of events 1. I go to readjust to sit (for lack of a better term) mermaid style 2. I put my weight onto my right leg so I can sit down and put my legs to the left of me 3. Pretty much as soon as I put my weight on my right leg I feel this weird tingly pain spread through the top of my right calf suddenly 4. The pain feels like a muscle ache and is constant. I’d say it was maybe a 6.5/10. Definitely enough to stop me in my tracks and worry me but I wasn’t crying out or anything. When I tried to move it I’d do a sharp intake of breath (that little wince-y “ooh 😬” thing) cuz the pain would light back up 5. I try to stretch out my leg but can’t. I felt like if I really fought my brain I could, but it was really difficult. My knee is basically stuck bent at \~90° angle. My foot is also kind of stuck like I’m pointing my foot (not my toes though, just around my ankle really). It was stuck in the position that it had been in when the pain started 6. One of the instructors had to help me up to a chair by hoisting me up under my armpits 7. When I got in the chair my toes were on the ground because I couldn’t move them so I sat with my left foot on the floor and my right stuck pointed underneath the chair 8. I got ice and began to ice it 9. After a couple of minutes I was able to put my foot flat on the floor 10. After a couple more minutes I tried to stretch it out even further. I could feel some resistance but felt like I could go further 11. I then felt this HUGE pop 12. My leg is able to move again and the pain is mostly gone 13. About 10 mins after that I get up and walk around I go on about my day as normal after that. My muscle there still feels a little weird/stiff/achey but it’s at a 1 or 2/10 now, the best way I can describe it is if you pressed on a couple days old bruise that was on its way out. Like, ow, but fine I tried to look up what happened on google and see if I could figure it out but I couldn’t find any websites that accurately described what I had and I don’t trust the AI overview. I haven’t had any previous injury to this site (that I’m aware of). If anyone has any insight on this please share!! Again I’m a little freaked out cuz this has never happened to me before. Thanks!!
