Metronidazole cream

I have some redness/flushing on my cheeks and chin mostly. No bumps or anything really. I recently had my annual derm appointment and brought it up and he prescribed me Metronidazole cream. I've been using it usually twice a day. Every once and a while I'll go a day or two without it and I noticed when I have I've gotten pimples. One was a regular pimple and one was a blind pimple. Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience since I rarely get pimples.
