Switching from Amphetamine based stimulants to Methylphenidate stimulant
Post Content
I have been taking different amphetamine stimulants for about 5 months. I have tried both Adderall and Dextroamphetamine with several weeks on different doses of each. Both Adderall and Dex. give me slightly increased energy but they don't help with my ADHD (i.e., task initiation, procrastination, focus, etc.). My doctor said I should switch to a Methylphenidate stimulant as these are better for task initiation etc. Has anyone experienced this? Like they were struggling to initiate tasks on Amphetamine stimulant and then switching to Methylphenidate made task initiation easy and they no longer procrastinate?
