How do I make my mom understand?

Post Content

Hey! I’m wondering if anyone would know any good YouTube videos/ articles that I could send my mom to make her understand my adhd better. I got diagnosed with adhd just under a year ago and I don’t feel like she fully gets it. I find it really hard to communicate about my struggles to her so I think this might be a better way. Among other things, I struggle A LOT with burnout, task management, procrastination and adhd paralysis. These are what I would like her to understand a bit more because it really hurts that she thinks I am being lazy all the time. I am putting an insufferable amount of pressure on myself and it doesn’t make it easier having to live in an environment that expects so much of me. Sometimes it feels like doing my laundry will exhaust me to the point where I will mentally and physically disintegrate; and I don’t think this is comprehensible to her on any level. Any advice would be appreciated.
